Fuzzy Logic Based Direct Torque Control Scheme for Split Phase Induction Motor

in this paper, a Fuzzy logic based direct torque control (DTC) scheme for split phase induction motor (SPIM) is established. The induction motor has two sets of stator three-phase windings spatially shifted by 30 electrical degrees. The major disadvantage of conventional DTC is existence of high torque ripples. In this paper, we used a fuzzy logic controller to overcome this drawback. Simulation results show that in addition to a good dynamic response, torque ripple in this scheme is significantly reduced.
